Colorado Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award
The Governor’s Distinguished Improvement awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. On the school performance framework that is used by the state to evaluate schools, these schools “exceed” expectations on the indicator related to longitudinal academic growth and “meet or exceed” expectations on the indicator related to academic growth gaps. Lopez Student Wins Essay Contest!
Congratulations to Evan Zamba who won the
Intermediate Level Author Visit Essay Contest with his essay,
"Comedian"! The prize was a visit from Author Mary Hoffman to Evan's class on Feb. 1st. The video of Mrs. Hoffman's presentation will also be available to view on our You Tube Channel within a couple weeks.
| Author Mary Hoffman Visits Lopez
Mrs. Hoffman is well known for books such as "Amazing Grace". In it, Grace's Nana says, "You can do anything you want if you put your mind to it!" Evan, and 450 other students, submitted essays about how they could make their dreams happen in life. Mrs. Hoffman asks that students read the FAQs on her website (www.maryhoffman.co.uk) prior to the visit.
